Frquently visited sites

When you open a new tab in Safari, you’re able to see your Favorites along with a list of frequently visited websites. While this can be handy, not everyone wants to advertise their most frequently visited sites every time they open a new Safari tab.

In the past, there was a jailbreak tweak that allowed you to disable frequently visited sites in Safari. Now, however, it’s possible to disable these sites directly from Safari’s preferences without jailbreaking. In this post, I’ll show you how.

Turn off frequently visited sites in Safari

Step 1: Open the Settings app.

Step 2: Tap on Safari.

Step 3: Switch the Frequently Visited Sites switch under the General heading to the off position.

That’s all there is to it; no tweaks or hoops to jump through. You still get to keep your favorites, yet you eliminate the annoying frequently visited sites listing, as you can see from the screenshot below.

If, instead of removing them altogether, you’d rather remove an individual frequently visited site listing, it’s possible to do that as well. Just long press on the site that you wish to delete, and tap the Delete pop up that appears.

Who do I reach out to with issues with the site? Every time I go to open a link in the background on my phone, it opens in the background but the touch still registers and causes the link to open up in the same tab, unless I scroll up or down when the action sheet pops up.

I know that was poorly worded but I want to send someone a video of it happening to better understand what’s going on.

    Random question guys.
I am going to get my phone unlocked from AT&T next week but I notice that my iPhone 6s has some battery issues, even on iOS 9.0.2. I am planning on switching the phone at the nearest apple store soon but will Apple replace the iPhone with a unlocked iPhone?

I’ve gone through this exact problem before. If you unlock your iPhone and take it to Apple for Repair, they will give you a replacement unit already unlocked. It’s a waste of money to unlock it in the first place when the replacement will come unlocked. Btw, not a fan of your music, but love your dancing!

      • Btw, not really MJ, as he is dead…

Ummmm excuse me? I’m alive and well…

  • This seriously made it past the editor’s room and onto the site?? This article could have been handled with Twitter and the 140 character limit! ha

  • I need some help about frequently visited sites with Safari on my Mac. The other day, I deleted cookies on my computer. Of course that deleted my frequently visited sites, which was fine. But now those sites get deleted every time I shut down and restart my computer. I want those sites on my browser. How can I get them back permanently?
